OIL AND LEATHER
From her vantage point beside the bar, Katlyn "Kat" Vaughn had the perfect view to watch the newest arrival to their little family.
Perhaps family was the wrong word to describe a motorcycle club, but it was all Kat had ever known. That was good enough for her. Besides, she was the only daughter of the club president, Pete Vaughn--"Leatherback Vaughn" as he became known over the years.
Kat flicked her long auburn hair over her shoulder as she took a long drink from her beer, eyes flicking around the room. She took in the men and women she was surrounded by and had grown up with. Her three brothers sat at a table with their father, drinking and laughing as the rest of the crew got to know the new face.
Antonio "Tony" Saenz just moved to Reno from their El Paso chapter. He moved amongst his new brethren with ease. He fit in with his confident swagger and booming laughter, like every other testosterone-filled engine jockey in the room.
Of course, Kat was no different. Her pride and joy was parked outside along with the rest of the motorcycles. It was a gift from her father for her sixteenth birthday. She had barely even bothered to get her car driver’s license. In fact, she was so happy with her beloved bike that her father actually had to convince her that a car might sometimes provide an added convenience factor.
No, Kat was just as much in love with the grease, rubber, and roaring engines as any man.
He was a bit younger than most of the men in the club. She suspected he was closer to her own age, which was definitely young by the club's ageing standards. As the youngest rider in the Reno club, Kat thought it needed more young blood. She leaned back against the bar, her pert breasts jutting out; yet, hardly anyone spared her a glance. These men all earned the honorary term “uncle.” They raised her as one of their own, after all.
It didn’t mean she was a blushing virgin. Far from it. With so many older brothers and uncles surrounding her, all of them dangerous when push came to shove, Kat learned to be both creative and discreet with her lovers. After all, if some poor guy was beaten to death with a socket wrench, she didn’t want to feel be responsible.
Sometimes, it was suffocating. They always pushed her to the back when things came to a head, they always protected her. She couldn’t blame them; but, that didn’t mean she liked it. As she watched Saenz with hooded eyes, she couldn’t help but think that she'd have at least a small run of freedom with this one. Then, he’d likely become as overbearing as the rest of them.
He certainly didn’t look like he took himself too seriously, she thought. She watched him as he got roped into an arm wrestle with one of her brothers. Maybe things were more easy-going in El Paso, though she doubted that very much.
He was nicely tanned from days spent riding beneath the sun. She watched his biceps flex and strain with an appreciative eye. He spoke briefly when her father introduced him. The drawled twang was “Texan Heartland” through and through. Coal black hair fell just below his ears. It was slightly longer than most of the men’s hair here. Often their Irish sensibilities took over, despite their outlaw status.
Her brother crowed in triumph, as he slammed his opponent’s hand down on the worn tabletop to a chorus of cheers. Kat shook her head, smiling fondly. Poor bastard. Anyone could have told him that her brother never lost. Still, she supposed there were a lot of things he was going to learn now. Things were bound to run differently here, as opposed to in El Paso.
For starters, the weather was probably going to kill him.
She smirked at the thought, even though she had more reasons than most to curse the Arizona sun. Her creamy skin was prone to freckle rather than tan. Kat hated it. She hated anything that she thought made her look cute or girly.
She shifted in her tight leather pants, her solid boots planted firmly on the floor. She placed her empty bottle back on the bar, smiling at Terri who was behind it. Pushing fifty, Terri was the wife of her father's right-hand man, Lawrence. She was a Godsend, as far as Kat was concerned. She was as tough as nails and took no crap from anyone. Terri taught a young Kat how to hold her own in a man's world. Kat still turned to her the most for help. Her own mother died before she could even really remember her. Kat knew she was lucky to have this pillar of knowledge and strength in her life.
Many a bottle had been broken over a rowdy idiot's head when the bar was closing, courtesy of Terri's hand.
Kat slung plenty of right hooks herself when club meetings turned into physical “debates.” No one ever dared strike her back; yet, it still embarrassed her when someone picked her up and slung her over a shoulder. She supposed that’s what came with being smaller than everyone else. It happened enough that Kat figured this was her due when the men wouldn't fight her. Still, Kat knew she could hold her own. That's what mattered.
Leaning against the bar, she watched curiously as the man of the hour made his way towards her. Saenz cut through the crowd with ease, as though he'd always been there. He smiled and shook his empty beer bottle despondently when he stopped in front of her.
"Do you think I could get another beer?" he asked.
Kat raised an eyebrow, straightened up, and looked him in the eye. "Probably. While you're at it, you can get me one, too."
Behind her, she could hear Terri and the other bar staff howl with laughter as Saenz's face fell. "Oh. Shit, sorry. I thought…" He trailed off sheepishly, but Kat wasn't letting him get away with it that easily.
"You thought what? That I had a pair of tits, so my job is to provide you with refreshments? Sorry, babe. The only woman who had that job was your mother and even that ended a long time ago."
"Hey," he frowned, tilting his head at her, "that's a bit harsh."
“No," Kat smiled. "Harsh would be my father coming over here to beat your ass for disrespecting his little girl, but lucky for you I don't need my family to fight my battles."
"Who's your father?"
Kat's smile grew bigger. "Guess."
To her surprise, he burst into laughter. "Fucking brilliant," he said, shaking his head. "You'd be Kat, then." He held out his hand, calloused in the way a rider's hands always were. After a moment's pause, Kat grasped it in return.
"Here," Terri passed a beer over the bar to each of them, "before you have a stroke, young man."
He took it with a thanks and tipped Kat a salute. His eyes roved smoothly up and down her body in a way she didn't experience all that often. She didn't know whether to be offended or flattered. Before she could make up her mind, he stared resolutely at her face once more and gave her a wink.
"Well, if I don't get murdered by your kinfolk in my sleep, I look forward to seeing you again, Kat Vaughn." He sauntered off. Kat watched him go with a grudgingly admirable look. She glanced over her shoulder as Terri let out an appreciative whistle. Terri hummed in agreement, as they both watched his denim clad ass move into the crowd.
"He's going to be trouble, that one." Terri sounded altogether too pleased with her statement and Kat found herself agreeing with her. She took a long gulp, trying to cool the heat she suddenly noticed had spread across her body. It really was a fine ass
.
"I hope so," she whispered.

Kat appeared to be getting her wish. Over time, Saenz sought her out more and more often. Despite the clash at their first meeting, he seemed to be interested in her enough to look past the tough girl front she wore to be taken seriously.
She was definitely interested enough to drop that mask, just enough to appear receptive to his interest. Whatever that interest may be. If he just wanted a fuck, well, there were certainly less suicidal ways of getting some action than with the daughter of an outlaw motorcycle club's president. But, if it was something more, well, she would have to wait and see.
During club meets, Saenz would help her shout down other members so that she could speak clearly. He often sought her out afterwards for further words over a drink or game of pool. If she was working on her bike in the communal garage behind the clubhouse, he would park his bike next to hers. They would work in silence for hours, just the two of them.
Even when they were out riding along the dusty stretches of highway surrounding the city, she never had to look to see who was angling their ride closer to hers. It was always him.
To her relief, no one else seemed to really notice their burgeoning attraction, save Terri. And if Kat's shirts were suddenly cut a bit lower, her jeans a bit tighter, then the older woman was good enough not to mention it near anyone else. Her approving looks said enough, anyway.
"I told you he'd be dangerous," she laughed one night as the two women shared a beer and watched the pool game going on across the room.
"That face is dangerous," Kat snorted. "If he keeps going like he is, he's going to get a smack in it from one of my brothers as soon as they catch on."
"Ach," Terri shook her head. "Dangerous is what we do, my girl. Those brothers of yours would do well to remember that you're a grown woman and not a little girl anymore."
"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Dad still thinks I'm a virgin," she said.
"If he does, then it's his own fault and no one else's," Terri pointed out. "All girls break their father's hearts one day. Better to get it over and done with, I say."
Kat watched as Saenz bent over the table, lining up his shot. His strong thighs from straddling an engine for years had been on her mind for a while. And, that ass...
Kat raised her bottle in a toast. "Here's to heart breaking, then."
Making her way over to the pool table, Kat cocked her hip and leant casually against it beside him.
"Beating down or being beat?" she asked.
He laughed. "Sadly the second one. I'm doing El Paso none too proud, I'm afraid."
"Need a good luck charm?" She winked and there was no mistaking her flirty tone. To her surprise he just shook his head.
"What I need is a partner." He grabbed another cue off the wall and thrust it into her hands. Jerking his chin at his opponent he called out, "Let's double up."
Terri's husband stepped up to the table to join the game. Kat quickly had to refocus her mind. Her brothers had come over and were yelling at her to make them proud. It was hard though. Unless she was mistaken, her initial come on had been rejected in favor of a more serious offer.
It was starting to look like the El Paso cowboy wasn't just trying to get some action. Well, Kat could handle that. The real test would be whether or not Saenz could. She watched as he sunk several balls in a row and then flashed her a smug grin.
Oh, yes. She was going to have fun finding out.
Each interaction took on a deeper meaning over the following days. Touches lingered and somehow escaped the notice others to Kat's relief.
She found him in the garage late one afternoon, kneeling on the floor beside his bike. His strong hands were covered in grease and engine oil. He stood when he saw her come in, wiping his palms on the seat of his jeans. He bent over to put his tools away. Kat cast an appreciative eye, over both the bike and its owner. She wouldn't mind a ride on either of them.
As if reading her thoughts, Saenz turned around and jerked his chin at the bike standing between them. "Fancy a ride?" he asked.
Kat smacked her lips thoughtfully. Riders didn't simply climb onto the back of another bike without a good reason - usually because their own bike had met an unfortunate end. Girlfriends and wives, sure, there was no issue there. They rarely had their own bikes. Kat was one of the few women who was a serious rider. If she suddenly climbed onto another man's bike when there was nothing wrong with hers...
If her father saw them, there would be no mistaking what was going on.
"What if I asked you to get on the back of mine?" Kat watched as he appeared to consider her proposal. After only a few seconds, he shrugged and nodded.
"Sure," he said.
Kat was surprised. Not many guys would willingly get onto a woman's bike, let alone let her do the driving. This was an interesting development indeed, but she had no desire to make him look foolish, even if he didn't seem to care.
"Come on, Romeo. Show me what you and your beast there can do."

They rode for several miles, up into the hills, chasing the setting sun as it disappeared on the horizon. Kat pressed herself firmly against his back. The feel of his broad shoulders strong and solid against her cheek, as she lay her face against him. He smelled like sweat, oil, and worn denim. The wind whipped his hair back to chase hers, as they rode higher into the mountains. When they stopped, she was reluctant to pull away from him; but, then, he was turning in the seat. His chin brushed her temple, as she leaned into him.
He grabbed her arms from around his waist. He pulled her off his bike and swung her around until she was straddling the front of him, legs spread wide on either side of his bike. He kicked the stand down. Then, his hands were in her hair, tangled and rough. His open mouthed kisses pressed up and down her neck until he captured her mouth in a searing kiss.
Kat wound her slender arms around his neck. She arched against him and moaned as his hand came down to grasp her ass, tugging her closer. His mouth was hot and slick. His tongue moved in her mouth with a lazy exploration. The simple action made her try and force him tighter against her. He let out a breathy laugh between them. His hands wandered over her ass and up and down her lithe back.
Her leather jacket dropped to the ground. Kat pressed her swollen breasts up against his chest, making him grunt in pleasure. The way he gripped the small of her waist and kissed her over the swell of her chest was greedy and lustful. It made her throw her head back and moan into the coming night.

Kat actually got quite used to riding on the back of Tony's bike. It quickly became Tony, as opposed to Saenz. That was what the rest of the crew called him. Besides, Saenz was too distant of a name to call some who regularly kidnapped you on his bike. Especially, the ride usually transitioned into a make out session, complete with groping like teenagers away from prying eyes.
They were parked in the empty lot of a nature reserve. Kat's legs wrapped acrobatically around Tony's waist, as she straddled him on his bike. Suddenly, they realized their “Lovers’ Lane” wasn't going to remain so private.
The rumbling roar of a bike closing in was enough for them to pull apart and stand up. They watched to see who was intruding on their evening. When the bike tore into the lot, it only took Kat a split second to recognize it as a rival gang member. She didn't know the rider or the woman hanging off of his back; but, it was enough to know that this could turn ugly.
Tony immediately glanced at the small side-bag strapped to the back of the bike and then meaningfully at Kat. She nodded to show that she understood. Kat's own gun was usually tucked down the back of her jeans; but, not when she could potentially blow off a lover's wandering hands. It was back home with her bike. At least now she knew Tony carried one.
The new bike pulled up several feet from them and its riders slid off. They stood in front of the Tony and Kat. The man had several inches over Tony, but wasn't as broad. The girl was a stringy wisp of a thing with a mea
n look to her pinched face.
"This isn't your side of town," the man sneered, looking the pair of them up and down. Tony simply shrugged, like he wasn't concerned in the least.
"It ain’t yours either."
"Ooh, a Texan," the woman laughed. "That puts you well out of your place."
"Just get out of here and we can all go on with our night," Kat said and the man turned his eyes on her.
"You're old Leatherback's daughter," he said, considering the fact.
"What of it?" Kat lifted her chin and stared at him defiantly, but the woman spoke first.
"We don't like spoiled princesses, that's what."
"Then, what are you doing with him?" Kat pointed at the woman’s riding partner and Tony snickered.
"Fuck you," the woman spat. She stepped forward and threw a wild haymaker that caught Kat unprepared. She swore and raised an arm to shield herself from another blow. Tony tried to step forward, but the guy grabbed him roughly by the front of his denim vest. They scuffled for a moment. Then, the yelling of their fighting girlfriends was blocked out with the first serious right hook.
